What is going on with the Hampton Park Mens Club?
4th of July Parade - 2011
On Monday, July 4, 2011, the Hampton Park Men's Club (HPMC) will host the Hampton
Park 4th of July Parade.
The parade begins at 9:30am at the Festival Pool parking lot and ends at the Celebration pool parking lot. After the parade, the HPMC will host a free 4th of July carnival at Celebration Park to include rides, games and other fun activities. We encourage all to participate in the parade and celebrate its theme.
You can also:
- Gather your friends and build a float* to celebrate the parade's theme and enter it into the parade
- Ride your golf cart or motorcycle
- Decorate your children's bikes and walk with them
- Drive that fancy car of yours or,
- Wear your favorite concert tee shirt and just sit on your lawn chair and watch it go by
* Best float wins their own VIP tent area at Celebration to include a $150 gift certificate to Skip Rock Cafe. The name of the float will also be placed on the HPMC Best Float Plaque.
If you are interested in participating in the parade, please be in the Festival Pool parking lot no later that 8:45 so we can stage you in the parade line-up.

Questions and Answers Regarding the 4th of July Parade
Question 1: If my child wants to ride his/her bike or walk with a group, do I
have to register them?
Answer: No, just show up no later than 8:45 at Festival Pool Parking Lot where
you will be given a position to stay until the parade begins at 9:30.
Question 2: What do I have to do to enter the “best float” contest?
Answer: Just show up no later than 8:45 at Festival Pool Parking Lot where you
will be given a position to stay until the parade begins at 9:30. Secret judges
will be posted along the route who will judge the creativity of your float.
Winners (and their families)will be provided with a VIP tent and Free Refreshments @ Skip Rock Café at Celebration Pool.
Question 3: Who is the parade’s Grand Marshal?
Answer: Kid with the best costume
Question 4: So I got a cool car/motorcycle, what do I have to do to ride it in
the parade?
Answer: Just show up no later than 8:45 at Festival Pool Parking Lot where you
will be given a position to stay until the parade begins at 9:30.
Question 5: Besides block floats and kids on bikes, who else will be in the
parade?
Answer: Joining us will be the Chesterfield Fire Department, Chesterfield Police
Department, VA State Police Department, Manchester High School Pipe and Drum
Group, VA National Guard and the Buffalo Solders Motorcycle Club.
Question 6: Will the dunk tanks and kids rides at the Celebration Hockey Rink be
free?
Answer: You bet!
Question 7: What if I want to just watch the parade go by?
Answer. Like last year, the parade route will be lined with American Flags. It
will begin at Festival Park, make a left on Hampton Glen Lane, cross over
Otterdale, make a right on Hampton Glen Drive, and make a left on Hampton Forest
Drive. The parade will end at the entrance to Celebration Park.
Question 8: How long is the parade route?
Answer: About a mile.
